Decision-making tools for the euthanasia of piglets and pigs were developed in the Netherlands by a working group comprising the Royal Society for Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University and Anoxia BV (now RASA Stunning). The Centre for Sustainable Animal Stewardship (Utrecht University and Wageningen University) has also developed decision-making tools for rabbits and lambs – these species must not be euthanised using nitrous oxide.
